He shared some surprising information and even admitted to now having a ‘Go Bag’ …after starting the show!

This survey is for the first two episodes that aired back to back on the National Geographic Channel on Feb 7, 2012. The survey will close on Feb 14th and we will continue to ask for feedback….so please share input soon…it won’t take long.

Does the actions of those ‘across the pond’ affect those in the USA and around the world? I believe they will affect us and sooner as well as later.

Some events that I see happening are as follows:

1. Immidiately the west will have issues with crude oil prices which will…
2. Raise the price of gas at the pumps
3. An already sluggish economy in the West will struggle even more.
4. Inadequate yet limited public transportation will become over burdened and still increase in cost.
5. The cost of getting TO work for the ever shrinking percentage that has employment mean less expendable income into the rest of the economic machine.
6. Transporting food will drive ever increasing prices even higher.

I am not opposed to the sanctions. I am not in favor of the sanctions. As one not part of the European Union, I have no voice…the voice I have is to tell people to prepare for what may lie ahead. This event is a stone thrown in the water. Although one act, there are ripples.

Be prepared before gas increases food – STOCK UP NOW – it is time sensitive.

I hear a lot about having money and precious metals on hand for the uncertain future. Wouldn’t an investment not be better spent now in a different way? Canned peas that cost currently cost $.78 might be $7.80 in our economic future.  I would personally rather have food, water and toilet paper than paper money, coins or even gold and silver.

The foundation for asking this question is the current economy and trends. The question is very legitimate as many of us wonder what the next year will bring to or take from our financial stability.

Something that will preserve your life is far wiser than saving up precious metals alone.  Some currency , silver or gold is likely to be needed and appeal to some as (especially the tax office to pay taxes on your land) in the event of an economic collapse.  However, this question warrant some pondering along with some out of the box action steps.

There are many tangible belongings and skill set abiliites that could easily prove more priceless to life should we face a major change to the status quo.

Here is a short list to get started thinking:

• Water
• Food
• Growing fruits and vegetables, Foraging
• Canning, Dehydrating, Curing, Smoking foods to preserve them.
• Plumbing, handy-man skills
• Solar power (passive and active), wind or water power
• Raising livestock
•  Things the pioneers and settlers did hundreds of years ago that enabled them to live

This incomplete list of skills and tangible goods (not omitting the venture of gaining and  testing trying the old skills) are more valuable and may just be even more of a realistic option for many of us than a stash of shiny metals that can neither be consumed nor bring hope with person who is in search of sustenance.

To  discover what may actually be important,  ask a person who has lived through the Great Depression. With no money and income, what became essential to them? I believe the answer would enlighten us.

To top off the state of affairs that plague America the past few years – many of us have suffered a great sense of the lack of Security, even while government tries to reach in and do more – we are less and less secure.   We have “Homeland Security”, “Social Security”, Banks, Securities and Investments, the “CDC” and “WHO” (health ‘securities’ if you will) of which none are actually very secure at all, at least not any more.  The term “job security” is a fast fading from our vocabulary as a Nation and many of us are facing a very insecure retirement.

Even today, there are reports of our own security systems of FEMA and Homeland Security having schizophrenic issues within themselves. On one hand, they are urging folks to be prepared for any type of disaster, while also inquiring as to how much food you might have on hand in case there is need to confiscate/use it. Asking for lists of customers at a Tennessee LDS Cannery so that they can be investigated. Make up your minds! Do we prepare or not?  Did not our forefathers ‘put food by’ for harsh times ahead? It seems the government would prefer we be a drain upon society out of one side of their mouths, yet will encourage us to prepare out of the other. How does this create any sense of security in what lies ahead? It doesn’t.

It is time to evaluate just where and in Whom your security lies. Perhaps there is a shift needing to be made in your lifestyle or relationships to give you more security in this shaky world. Perhaps there really is only One Unshakable and Secure Kingdom…I know, I said I wasn’t going to go there, but look at it all… when the world our parents even knew or freedoms that our fathers fought for are so insecure…we have to find Security somehow.
