In a new effort to pressure Iran over it’s nuclear program, the European Union has imposed sanctions on Iranian Oil. There is some ‘wiggle room’ for negotiation, on the sanctions however if Iran were to suspend  it’s atomic activity. Does the actions of those ‘across the pond’ affect those in the USA and around the world? I believe they will affect us and sooner as well as later. Some events that I see happening are as follows: Immidiately the west will have issues with crude oil prices which will… Raise the price of gas at the pumps An already sluggish […]

We are supporters of a certain Preparedness Forum that someone posted a question that went something like this: I hear a lot about having money and precious metals on hand for the uncertain future. Wouldn’t an investment not be better spent now in a different way? Canned peas that cost currently cost $.78 might be $7.80 in our economic future.  I would personally rather have food, water and toilet paper than paper money, coins or even gold and silver. The foundation for asking this question is the current economy and trends. The question is very legitimate as many of […]

The Raw Milk “Crime”

Ron Paul is up in arms about this issue, as I believe we all should be.  The FDA has been telling us what we can eat and drink for far too long, and now they continue to push into our refrigerators limiting grass-fed cow’s milk just because it has not had been pasteurized (which also kills off  the beneficial digestive enzymes ). How is it that we have a ‘free’ society that has a governmental agency dictating what we cannot drink? Foods with additives are approved, but not a natural product such as raw milk. Foods that are genetically modified, […]

Encouraging preparedness…

Just when we’re feeling overwhelmed with what it is we feel called to do (share preparedness living and encourage others) and we’re struggling with feeling like square pegs in the round holes of society – it’s just like our Father to send an encouraging word OUR way! The following note, from someone I hope to have the honor of meeting face to face one day, was such a breath of fresh air and has put more wind in our sails to press on in our sharing. I hope you are inspired by it as we are! “Donna, I am so […]

We were asked this very important question by someone who recently purchased several of our BPA-FREE Spin Lid storage pails….Found Here [We] want to long term store flour, rice, sugar, and pasta for up to one year minimum. Are there any special tips to protect the contents that I need to be aware of? We felt like it was of importance to share on this blog due to the fact that there are often two camps of food storage that people fall into: Regular Use and Emergency Only food storage. Here is a copy of our reply: Basically it only […]
